The idea of Cheer-UPs came from the IUB "Pioneers" - the first class of Jacobs University Bremen (then still IUB), which graduated in the Summer of 2004. Noticing that their fellow students were very stressed out and pressured, the pioneers decided to cheer them up before midterm and final exams with a little party at the College Office. These cheer-up parties take place during the midterm and final weeks and feature lots of coffee, tea, and sugar rich snacks. The good music and the friends you meet at the college office help do away with that horrible stress and give you that extra boost you need to go back to your room and study for your exams.
Below you will find articles that have been written about the cheer ups. Impressions of some of the cheer ups can be seen here, here and here. |
