| Review: Zimbabwe CID 2011 |
|
This week, 10th of March 2011 took place the second Zimbabwe Country Information Day also recalled as "Zimbabwe - Legacies of Stone". As usual, our common room was over-populated with people from all colleges, host families and officials that came with the sole purpose of engulfed the country's culture and, of course, eat the delicious food (and worms) they offered :). And they weren't disappointed as the performance was extremely entertaining to say the least. Apart from their distinct food, houses, quite twisted language which we got to unsuccessfully experiment for ourselves with some native Zimbabwean tong twisters, they also gave us a thorough insight to some of their... different customs - like marriage - through a quite amusing live act where a British guy along with three of his friends come into a Zimbabwe home in the hope of obtaining the hand of one of their daughter.Overall, this CID, just like all other before it, was a huge success and we're looking forward for the 3rd Zimbabwe CID P.S.
