Just a week after Mercator College has seen the Tanzanian CID, the long awaited, even longer delayed Second German CID took place - on May 5th, 2007. After taking so much time to organize the events, the Germans really had to perform well, and boy did they do it!
In only an hour or so they had managed to pack so much of their country and people - Malte being the host in the role of an over-enthusiastic tourist guide, guiding two WM2006 visitors - Leon and Ian - through all of it. A trip through the famous German lands, history lesson - from Napoleon times through the sad days of Nazi regime and the Cold War to hosting the World Cup in 2006, introduction to some of the greatest of the German "poets and thinkers", songs and dances, even a personal appearance by President Treusch himself - all this and much more had found its place in the Germans performance.
After the CID finished with a short reminder of the great party WM2006 was and the audience finished the food prepared for them, a certain feeling that we had just seen one of the greatest CIDs was floating around. Gut gemacht, Leute! Gerne wieder!
