What's that?

This week, on Wednesday, 10th of Nov 2010, Jacobs went on Wikipedia with the help of our enthusiastic Jacobians. The event consisted of translating the Jacobs University Bremen Wikipedia page into as many as possible languages for it to be accessible to everyone everywhere.

What happened?

After our little event, though many people had exams and lab reports and couldn't come, those who did managed to almost triple the number of languages on the Jacobs Wiki page, rendering this is  a successful event. Moreover, what the Jacobs-Goes-Wiki managed to do is to raise awareness to the students about the currently (now formerly) bad state of this University's Wikipedia page .Consequently, people all over campus started taking this task into their own hands and continued translating from their rooms. It is great if people realized that if everyone pitches in, even a bit, we can easily make Wikipedia aware of how multicultural Jacobs is.

What next?

Fear not, there will be a sequel! We cannot let the aftermath of this be left unnoticed. People are already plotting the next such event , this time in an exam-free period when (hopefully) more people will attend.
