Today, 3rd of November 2007, the Annual Mercator Cooking Contest took place in the Common Room. At exactly 4 p.m. the teams/floors started to arrive and to lay down the delicious menus they have prepared. With some small exceptions (ah, those MA3 ;-)) , everyone was punctual and so it started. The common room was all set with coloured tables, designated places for every team, nice background music and, the most important, some eager, *hungry* nice mood throughout the pretty large crowd who attended. All the participants have put quite some effort and diligence in preparing, decorating and presenting meals from cuisine ranging from Ethiopian to Lithuanian (and so many in between), so the judges had really hard time deciding to whom the prizes should go. However, every contest must have a winner and there they were: the 3rd place went to MA2 (Arabian cuisine), the 2nd to MB3 (Mexican) and the grand prize - 50 euros for the floor, 4 bottles of wine, and an Honorary Wooden Spoon - to MC2 (Ethiopian cuisine).
