Personal Statement

I am a 3rd year ISS major from Cologne, Germany, and I am half-German, quarter-Scottish and quarter-Spanish, which is why I came to Jacobs University in the first place: I knew that this international atmosphere was just what I needed, and I was sure to both fit in and at the same time learn even more about other cultures.

As for my involvement in the Student Government for now two years, I joined because in High School, there was no truly functioning Student Government due to a lack of interest.

Happy to find the opposite at Jacobs University, I was eager to contribute as much as possible and will continue to do so until I graduate as I believe that in an institution as young as Jacobs University, there is still a lot to improve. For Mercator in particular I have to say that the college has really become my home away from home, not only because our mascot is by coincidence my favorite animal and I like the color of blue, but if it weren’t for the amazing people here, I would not have the motivation and the energy to be as active as I have been from the beginning of my studies. Therefore, Mercatorians, if you have any issues, please feel warmly welcome to approach me at any time.
