My name is Jonas Blüthgen; I am studying Integrated Social Sciences (ISS) in my first year. I am 21 years old and coming from the city of Bremen. I spent my school career in Bremen with one year abroad in Palo Alto, California. I am member of Student Parliament since Fall 2006, currently chairing the PR Task Force committee.

To give you a picture of me: some of my interests are: singing in choir and in vocal ensembles, playing the piano, biking and other leisure-time outdoors sports, beach volleyball, web-design. In academics the major ISS with its broad orientation, covering subjects from sociology, politics, psychology, and beyond, meets my interests very much, but I am also interested in science, for example physics, specifically environmental science.

Mercator College seemed very attractive to me already prior to coming to Jacobs University.  I liked the character of a socially involved college and the understanding of an active college community. So I was very happy to see that I got into this college and I am even more happy now to be representative of this community.

I am eager to work to benefit of whole Jacobs University student community and take responsibilities for my fellow students. Though like my colleagues Mitul and Florian I also see myself especially as a delegate of you, fellow students from Mercator College. So please, feel very welcome to approach me, approach us for any concerns.
