As fresh as the snow atop the Himalayas, Abhinav was our facility student for almost a year. His enthusiasm for the job and his willingness to help people was infectious. Even though he is officially not a part of the college office team anymore, he still remains an active member of our vibrant community. His creativity and hard work have been marked significantly in the organization of various college office events, and his skill as a facility student was and is still visible around Mercator. He continues to be of great help and assistance to the team and the college due to his great dedication and loyalty! His willingness to help people and his social skills make him not only a excellent worker but a great friend. Apart from all this, he is a great climber, a fast soccer player, and a superb TA! Someone great once said "Big things come in small packages". We all agree, there is nobody who can do more justice to this quote than Abhi!

Billy comes from Kenya and he has been the first webmaster of the new site. Though he had to leave us after only 2 months in the team because of other work commitements, we had the chance to get to know his amazing photographic skills and his sense of humor, which was reflected on the interesting content on the website. Always ready to help and also to share his original ideas and findings.

Angolwisye Paul Mwakisu – or Ango as he is fondly called is always bubbling with energy. Full of enthusiasm, he is always cheerful and smiling. Originating from the wonderful county of Tanzania, he is fiercely proud of the fact that Mt. Kilimanjaro is in Tanzania and not Kenya. A skilled football player, he also has fun connecting wires. No wonder then that he is specializing in Electrical Engineering. And as for his responsibilities, he was our not so geeky webmaster and responsible for the last amazing website. Oh, and is always willing to help, so if you have any questions, Ango is the man!

Dedicated, hard working, full of innovative ideas; those are three words that come to my mind when I talk about Sarah. She is a fun person to be around, her openness and love for foreign cultures are unlike anything I have seen before. She is always ready to lend a helping hand when needed and of course she always keeps time (not surprising considering she's from Germany!). We are all pretty lucky to have her in our midst...

Rahul: our student mentor in the college office team and an inspiration in the kitchen. Rahul's creative taste buds make him a tasteful relish to the college office team. From him, I learned that watermelon gets new zest when eaten with salt and there is no thing as too much chilli. Soup for college office meetings reformed into a homely and warm event. Not only is he dedicated careful and a patient cook, he holds these qualtities as a person as well. Thank you for all the help Rahul

Misha – our man in black with a love for tribal art. Despite his dark wardrobe our facility guy has a very good heart. Being Romanian, he usually finds some (unconventional) solution to any problem that comes up, be it computer, facility or socially related. He might not be visible all the time but Misha is always there and ready to lend a helping hand or to listen patiently to the latest problems. With his sarcasm and directness it is at all times helpful, enriching and fun to have him on the team.

Aiste is a third-year ISS student. She comes from Lithuania and she is one of the three newest members of the team. With her great spirit for Mercator, it is no wonder that she loves organizing events and making people feel at home in this college. She is a very creative and colourful personality, always ready to help others and bestowing them with a smile and her warm personality.

Alexander is a third year student from Bulgaria, studying Mathematics at Jacobs University. Alex is our handy-man - ready, able and willing to fix everything that's broken and not working. He works quietly, quickly and efficiently and before you know you are back in business. As a bonus you he might tell you a funny joke which would keep you laughing for a while...

Anja has been with the team since 2006. She studies Biology and Psychology in her third year and comes from the northern region of Germany. She has a passion for hosting events and is always ready to come up with exciting plans and ideas. In her spare time, Anja enjoys sports, traveling, the outdoors and inter-cultural opportunities.

Yasmin is a third year psychology student from Singapore. Always caring about office affairs and often improving Mercator facilities or saving the college office from a state of complete chaos she is dedicated to making Mercator College a real home for all students living here. She also enjoys cooking nicely spiced food (try it if you get the chance!) as well as assisting in (crazy) psychological studies.

If you are wondering who is putting in much effort in updating the content of this website, then we are talking about our webmaster, Ivan! And if you have seen the CID posters on the walls of the servery and have wondered who was responsible for those, we are still talking about Ivan! He is also in his third year, studying Computer Science and hails from Bulgaria. He is diligent and committed and it was a pleasure to welcome him as one of the new members in the team. He enjoys a good laugh now and then, too! Have you seen him with a mohawk before? Sehr cool!

Ivan is our energetic friend who was also the webmaster of the last amazing web site ;-). In case you wonder where he is, and can’t find him in his room… you are looking at the wrong location. The College Office is the place to search for Ivan almost 24/7! And at dinner, you can always hear this cheerful talkative guy from distance. If you have some free time on your hands don’t forget to pay him a visit in his beloved Botswana! ;-)

The only thing small about Bhawana is her frame. With her dynamic personality and enormous heart, you wonder where she fits all that compassion and caring. In addition to being a great team worker, Bhawana is also known for encouraging inter-office brawls. After graduation from Jacobs University, Bhawana plans to pursue a career as a professional bowler.

You wanna have a good time at the end of the week, get some good vibes going, get your drink, relax, socialize - Khelly is your man! After a whole day of hard studying a hard work he takes off to the student bar or even to our party hall H3 to DJ and supply Jacobs University students with their fresh dose of adrenalin and serotonin. Can't find him there? Try the labs, the IRC or the College Office... who works hard gets to play hard... right?!
